Our blog site has not been working for the last few weeks but it is now back!
Check out some of our learning so far this term below.
This week we have finished our heroes and villains topic.
We have worked extremely hard on our innovate project, creating a rap about a historical hero.
In Big Maths we did the pyramid challenge. We had to solve each tower that was made with consecutive numbers.
There was a special rule which predicted the top number and we were looking for patterns.
In R.E we learnt about Martin Luther King and his inspiring speeches.
We have been very busy this week in Bumblebees.
In Maths we have been adding and subtracting and solving problems using addition and subtraction. We have been working with two and three digit numbers and started adding money. It was fun and we are getting much better at presenting our place value clearly.
In English we have been looking at mixed up fairy tales and switching the character roles. The heroes have become the villains and the villains have become the heroes. We learnt about William and were not happy about the story ending. We didn’t realise that the story was the three little pigs backwards until the end. We were not expecting it. We have also been learning about adverbial phrases and drop in clauses.
In R.E was learnt about different charities that help people such as St John’s Ambulance, Oxfam, Christian Aid and the R.S.P.C.A.
We have also been busy getting ready class assembly.
This week in Bumblebees we have been learning a lot.
In Maths we have been learning about fractions and investigating numbers.
On Monday we had an envelope and had to make the amount on the front of the envelope we had numbers 1-7 also in the challenge we had numbers 1-9 .
On Tuesday we had to find fractions of quantities.
Two days after we used spider grids to show equivalent fractions.
On Friday we had to make a whole using different fractions.
We had great lessons this week!

Also we have been using descriptive devices to write poems including kennings, metaphors, similes, alliteration, rhyme and lots of exciting adjectives. We have written our poems about fictional villains.
We have also been continuing to work on our sketching skills and used these to present our kennings.
In gymnastics we were practicing different balances and using the equipment safely.
In R.E we discussed and role played the story of the Good Samaritan.
This week we have have been reading The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith. We have also looked at images from the Disney films.
We have been exploring the character Cruella De Vil and looking at the words in the book used to describe her. One of the new words that we discovered was sophistication.
Also, we have used inverted commas correctly to write down what we would like to say to her.
In music we have explored different versions of Bill Lee’s song ‘Cruella DeVil’. Each of the songs were produced differently at a different tempo. The version by Selena Gomez even had a different pitch.
In Art we sketched the dalmatian puppies and some of us found this really tricky!
In Maths we have been learning about fractions. Today we had to shade different fractions of the puppies spots!
